Recomended Tips:
The Sunday antiques fair centered around nearby Plaza Dorrego (San Telmo) is a must,
not just for the antiques, but for the artisans that set up stalls along Av
Defensa and its side streets. When it's coffee time (any day of the week, of
course), skip the touristy cafes around the plaza and hit the old fashioned Cafés
spread along the neighborhood.
San
Telmo has always been considered one of the cradles of Tango in
Buenos Aires. It's a place where history, humor, and memories come
together anywhere you turn. The area has served as inspiration for numerous
artists and today the restaurants, plazas and stores located here are some of
the most frequented in Buenos Aires. The 2009 football season is on the second stage and
Boca Juniors is recovering from the first stage. Don't miss the opportunity to go to a football game to BOCA Juniors
stadium, which is a great experience.
